The Making
Craft Philosophy
Chinese woodworking reflects generations of knowledge in timber selection, measuring, cutting, carving and joinery. Traditional craftsmen use tools such as saws, planes and chisels to create architecture, furniture and everyday objects. Mortise-and-tenon joinery is particularly characteristic, allowing wooden components to be precisely fitted together with minimal reliance on nails.
