The Making
Craft Philosophy
Chinese glass craftsmanship combines material experimentation with decorative artistry. Historical glass objects include monochrome glass, carved and polished glass, overlay glass, painted enamel on glass and other decorative techniques. During the Qing dynasty, imperial workshops further developed sophisticated glassmaking traditions using both Chinese craftsmanship and techniques introduced from abroad.
